Tablescapes 101

At the store i have my main lady for my table settings, she is beyond the best so of course i asked her to give us her tips and tricks!!

So, In Lori's Words...

Setting a table can bit pretty daunting to come, but it can actually be really easy with a few simple tips and tricks.

It doesn’t have to cost an arm and a lento make it unique and beautiful.

I like a relaxed and layered look, so first start with a runner of choice down the middle of the table. Layer on top a second runner (pick a soft cotton or linen one for this layer) and scrunch it up a little bit to give interest and lay it down over the top.

Use what you can from around the house. If you have a large vase, go outside and cut branches or greenery and maybe add some flowers from your local grocery store or florists for extra pops of colour.

Pepper some pretty votives around the table for ambience! Don’t forget your can use real tea lights or faux versions!

Layering placemats is another great way to make your table settings beautiful. Use a rectangular placemat for the bottom and add a round mat on top.

Stack your dinner plate, then your side plate on top and either fold your napkin in quarters long ways and tuck the flat under your salad plate or find a fun napkin in the middle and pull it through for more texture.

I like to give everyone a decorative water glass alongside their wine glass.

Spread out your flatware and you are set!

You’ll be amazed at what you can create. Above all, have fun with it, its never has to look perfect!
